2. Tournament Formula
2.1. The
tournament consists of three stages:
2.2. The
first stage is a qualifying selection for a subsequent division on final
LEAGUES and DIVISIONS. Games are conducted on circular system.
2.2.1. All
registered players are liable to distribution on qualifying groups.
2.2.1.1. Amount
of qualifying groups is determined according to the Supplement 1 depending on
the amount of participants.
2.2.1.2. In
case if number of the registered players is less than 48 or more than 120, the
organizing committee has a right to change existent regulation until the
beginning of competition.
2.2.1.3
Forming of qualifying groups takes place after closing
of accreditation by zigzag classification of players, on the basis of the list
of players accredited on the tournament, ranged under World rating on the day
of the tournament.
2.3. The second stage is the games in final
Leagues and Divisions for determination of play-off participants and
distribution of the final places on the tournament for players, not passed in
play-off. Games are conducted on circular system. Amount of participants of the
second stage is no more than 96.
2.3.1. Distribution
of players on Leagues and Divisions takes place according to the Supplement 1.
2.3.2. Final
League «A» is formed from players, which take the «passing» places in
qualifying groups 1 and 4 (if there are four groups) or groups 1, 4 and 5 (if
there are six groups). Final League «B» is formed from players which take the
«passing» places in qualifying groups 2 and 3 (if there are four groups) or 2, 3
and 6 (if there are six groups).
2.3.3. The
participants of each final League do not play with the representatives of their
qualifying group on the second stage. The proper results are carried from the qualifying
groups.
2.3.4. The
participants of Divisions play a complete circle, without taking into account the
results of the first stage.
2.4. The
third stage is play-off.
2.4.1. 16
players, selected on the results of the second stage of the tournament, take
part in a play-off.
2.4.2. All
series are conducted until four victories of one of the participants.
